V-Fraas Scarves

V Fraas is the worlds leading manufacturer and distributer of scarves, founded in 1880 by Valentin Fraas the company has over 100 years experience in the development and production of woven goods.

Originally the woven accessories were produced for pitmen. Scarves, travelling rugs, and wraps were developed to keep the workingmen warm whilst working in their tough conditions.

Valentin quickly developed a name for himself and in 1894 The V Fraas Scarves was taken over by his son Christian. By the end of the century business was booming and the now rapidly growing company employed 100 people.

Over the next century despite the turbulent times during the two world wars the company still grew, increasing its production and growth around the world and in the 1980’s establishing sales in New York, Toronto, London, & Hong Kong

In 1985 V Fraas introduced the V Fraas Cashmink Scarf range, it was described as being “The Softest Acrylic woven scarf in the world”

Christian V Fraas built an in house finishing & production plant in the 1950’s Due to the increasing popularity they quickly had to expand and in the 1970’s with Dr Robert Shmidt now under the helm the company massively grew its production facilities. The company now owns facilities in Germany, The Czech Republic, & China and is one of the only companies in the market to own and control all of the factories where their goods are produced. Over ten million units are now produced a year.

            1,000 tons of yarn are used yearly and spun on specialist looms enabling V Fraas to produce everything from good value Acrylic products to luxurious high end cashmere.
